Silver Springs is home for many long-term residents. It is located on the other side of the Swaner Nature Preserve. It is a peaceful neighborhood with private lakes, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, children's playgrounds, and a picnic pavilion. An extensive network of maintained biking, hiking, and cross country skiing trails are easily accessible from the community. Some horse property is available. Subdivisions of Silver Springs include Meadow Springs, Northshore, Ranch Place, Snyders Mill, Meadow Wild and Southshore. There are also a few townhome developments in the Silver Springs area including Meadow Wild, Ptarmigan, Quail Meadows, Silver Meadows, Willow Bend East/Silver Springs Townhomes and Willow Bend West.
